Mic Righteous’ long awaited 18-track debut album Dreamland was announced back in July in true Rocky style – midway through his third Fire In The Booth freestyle on BBC Radio 1 with DJ Charlie Sloth and is finally released today, going straight in at Number 1 on the Hip Hop chart and No.5 in the overall chart!

Dreamland is metaphorically a reflection of society in the U.K. It’s familiar for being a famous theme park in Margate that used to have thousands of people travel to it and ensured the seaside was a thriving town and holiday resort for people all over the country. Like all good things, it came to and end. People stopped going to Margate which lead to Mic’s home town being largely boarded up, people not being able to get jobs and the area becoming a far from pleasant place to live, a microcosm of society today and towns just like it all over the country.

‘Survivor’ was the first single taken from the album and was premiered by Mistajam on BBC Radio 1Xtra to announce its release. The video is available to watch on Complex U.K.

The second track ‘2005’ saw Mic offering a taste of growing up in Margate and premiered on Link Up TV, who then went on to crown mic second in their rap feature ‘Hardest Bars’.

The third track ‘Be There x Intellectuals Unite’ featuring Tone and Vivienne Westwood premiered on i-D Magazine with The Fader hosting the video exclusively. The track was Westwood’s rap debut and marked the coming together of two notable voices campaigning for activism and change, with Mic performing as special guest at her show to highlight the effects of climate change during London Fashion Week.

The last two weeks have seen a slew of material released from Dreamland, with ‘Tempo of the Dance’, ‘Honour Mic’ & ‘I Turn Up’ dropping along with his #LiveTrax freestyle for SBTV ‘Ballad of An Outsida’ and No More 2016 freestyle ‘Moment of Clarity’, an update on the first bars Mic ever spat on camera as a 15 year old, bringing his story full circle to become the rapper set to change the world

Now it’s time for you to experience Dreamland too…
